North Leigh reached the last eight of the Southern League’s Red Insure Cup for the first time with a 3-1 win over Stratford Town at Eynsham Park last Wednesday.
After the kick-off was delayed 20 minutes due to floodlight problems, the Millers went ahead on 14 minutes.
Elliott Osborne-Ricketts charged forward before firing a hard, low shot that found the bottom corner of the net past a diving Stratford keeper Andy Kempshot from 20 yards.
Stratford levelled the third-round tie nine minutes later when Simeon Tulloch scored direct from a corner.
North Leigh keeper Matt Bulman denied Guy Clark’s header on the half-hour.
That proved crucial as North Leigh restored their lead on 69 minutes.
Defender Michael Hopkins broke forward before smashing a 25-yard shot past a stunned Kemp.
And they sealed victory on 85 minutes when Osborne-Ricketts fired home a penalty after Conor Ingram was brought down by Clark.
North Leigh’s home game with Division 1 South & West leaders Merthyr Town on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
