Windrush Boxing Club’s light bantamweight Nathan Hall, 15, had a work experience week he will never forget after he trained at the famous Ingle gym in Sheffield.

The chance came when the Witney gym contacted Brendan Ingle, who runs the gym with his son Dominic.

Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham, Ryan Rhodes, Johnny Nelson, Prince Naseem Hamed, Junior Witter and Kell Brook are all synonymous with the gym and all learned their trade in the classic, raw and no-nonsense surroundings of a converted church hall.

The gym provided Hall, the Home Counties Schoolboy champion with a week of learning and training alongside his hero welterweight Kell Brook.

With Kell training hard for his up-and-coming world title IBF fight on August 16 against Shawn Porter, Nathan, who attends Burfordf School, took to run with him.

“I can’t explain the experience other than to say it was awesome,” said Hall.

“The professional boxers work so hard every day.”

Ann Setch, from the Windrush club, added: “I can’t thank the Ingles enough for providing him with such an opportunity.”

She said Dominic Ingle had been so impressed with Nathan’s work ethic, drive and potential he has invited him back later in the summer.
