Hayley Dobson scored a double as leaders Witney beat Teddington 4-2 in a hard-fought home win in South Clubs League Division 3A on Saturday.
The hosts took a 2-0 lead through Marie Vincent’s deflected reverse-stick shot from Katie Gatt’s corner, and a Hayley Dobson goal.
Teddington replied with a penalty flick, but second-half goals from Sunny Ricketts and Dobson, either side of a visitors strike, saw Witney home.
Witney Men twice led, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw in their South League Regional 2 match at home to Phoenix & Ranelagh.
The hosts were ahead inside three minutes, Justin Chur-chill netting from a few inches at the far post.
Witney conceded an equaliser two minutes before half-time.
They regained the lead ten minutes from time, when skipper Andy Gosnell fed Jacob Deacon, who slotted past an on-rushing keeper.
But Witney’s defence lacked cool heads and conceded an equaliser in the final minute.
Tom Yallop scored the winner for Witney 2nd as they won 1-0 at home to Phoenix & Ranelagh 2nd in Middx, Berks, Bucks & Oxon League Division 4.
Yallop struck ten minutes in, though Witney were grateful to keeper Craig Simms who made a number of good saves as they maintained their advantage.
A hat-trick from Joe Taylor and a James Clark goal were not enough as Witney 3rd went down to a 6-3 defeat away to Ramgharia 2nd in Division 5.
