Witney returned to the top of Women’s South Club’s League Division 3A with a hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Hampstead & Westminster 2nd.
After an even goalless first half, Witney eventually scored the winner through Hayley Dobson and withstood a late Hampstead fightback.
Witney men’s Gareth Pritchard was nursing a sore head as they lost 4-2 at home to Bracknell in Regional 2.
Pritchard needed four stit-ches in a cut eyebrow after stopping a short corner with his head.
Despite taking an early lead through Justin Churchill, Witney fell 3-1 behind.
Churchill’s second brought Witney hope, but they conceded again.
Witney 2nd lost 2-0 at West Hampstead 5th in Middlesex,Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxford-shire League Division 4 Goals from Craig Summers and Joe Taylor were in vain as Witney 3rd lost 9-2 at Oxford 6th in Division 6.
