Witney men let slip the lead as they went down to a 3-2 defeat at home to Wokingham in Middx, Berks, Bucks & Oxon League Regional 2.

Andy Gosnall fired the home side ahead, only for Wokingham to level.

And it got worse for the hosts as they charged into a 3-1 lead.

Witney reduced the deficit when Scott Beach flicked home, but despite their efforts were unable to fashion an equaliser.

Witney 2nd slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Bracknell 2nd in the final away game of their Division 4 campaign.

The visitors started the stronger, only for Bracknell to take a 1-0 lead at the break, which they never looked like squandering.

Witney 3rd upset the odds with a 2-1 victory against Old Merchant Taylors in Division 5.

The hosts had to withstand some severe OMT pressure, before Jonny Austin gave them the lead midway through the first half.

However, Witney were rocked when the visitors levelled.

After the break, OMT had a man sin-binned as a result.

But Witney were unable to take advantage and it wasn’t until late on that they sealed victory when Austin doubled his tally with Witney’s second, via a deflection.

OMT grabbed what they thought was a late equaliser, but it was chalked off for encroaching as Witney held on for victory.
