Witney ended their season in style with a 3-0 win at home to Milton Keynes to finish runners-up to Banbury in Division 3A of the Ladies’ South Clubs League.

Despite some early pressure from the visitors Witney went ahead in the first half with a goal from Charlotte Manning, who bravely rode a forceful challenge from the keeper to score.

In the second half, Witney continued to dominate the game with two further goals from Amy Williams and Lucy Reading late on sealing the win.

Witney 2nd clinched promotion from Trysports Three Counties League Division 1 with a 1-0 success at Oxford Hawks 4th, with a game to go.

Basement boys Witney Men lost 2-1 at home to Eastcote 2nd in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional 2, despite a battling display.

They started slowly against the second-placed visitors and paid the price when Eastcote took an early lead.

But Witney regained their composure and levelled soon afterwards.

Jacob Deacon combined with Mike Godwin before beating the keeper with a cool finish.

Eastcote improved after the break and grabbed a late winner.

Joe Taylor’s goal was in vain as Witney 3rd lost 3-1 at home to South Bucks 3rd in Division 6.
