David Hyde and James Lamb scored two tries each as Witney made it 11 wins in a row in South West 1 East, with a 53-10 victory over Windsor.

Joe Rowles, Jake Thomas, Gareth Campbell and Ben Fisk also went over the whitewash for Witney.

The result saw the hosts move up to fourth in the table and within six points of the Berkshire side.

Phil Thomas kicked Witney ahead on ten minutes, before Windsor’s hooker was yellow-carded.

However, Witney were unable to take advantage and Chris Laidler levelled at 3-3, after Gareth Campbell was yellow-carded for playing the ball on the ground.

Hyde then drove over, following good work from fly half Henry Lamb and second row forward Charlie Bennett, though the windy conditions saw Thomas miss the conversion.

Witney kept up the pressure and set up a series of attacks close to the line.

And the intensity paid off handsomely when Rowles touched down after Witney pushed Windsor’s back over their try line from five metres out for 13-3 at half-time.

On 46 minutes, Rowles turned provider when he picked up from a ruck before feeding Hyde, who scored under the posts, Thomas converting.

Rhys Davies then responded for Windsor. Laidler added the extras.

Scrum half Campbell added to Witney’s tally, Bennett successfully kicking his first conversion.

James Lamb jinked his way past several challenges before scoring under the posts, with Thomas adding the extras.

Lamb grabbed his second try after Witney won a line-out, with Thomas successful with the boot again.

Winger Fisk wrapped it up for the rampant hosts when he crossed the whitewash late on.
