Didcot ended a successful season in style when their A team won the all-Berkshire Kennet League final.

After a last-four victory over Suttons, Didcot, who had finished second in the league standings, defeated Reading in the final at Wokingham.

They will collect their trophy at the county dinner in November.

Didcot’s ladies have also been triumphant as Jackie Nunn, Helen Moore and Jane Murphy won the Berkshire Two-Wood Benevolent Triples.

Harwell bowlers were celebrating after George Hicks after became the Berkshire unbadged singles champion.

Hicks led all the way as he defeated George Harris, of Great Hollands, 21-8 in the final at Thatcham.

Hagbourne’s seniors won the Berkshire Kennet LX League Division 2 championship.

In a fluctuating final, Hagbourne won on two of the three rinks to defeat Woodley 54-46.

After trailing at halfway, Woodley staged a comeback and were only one shot behind after 15 ends.

A tense final few ends followed before Hagbourne’s captain Paul Ryman delivered the final wood.
