Vive Le Roi rewarded Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon’s patience by making a winning debut at Worcester.
The four-year-old gelding did not get to the racecourse last season due to “growing pains”.
Longsdon put him out in a field, and the move paid off as the 2-1 favourite landed the first division of a two-mile National Hunt Flat Race by two and three-quarter lengths from Rebel Collins under Richard Johnson.
