WITNEY lost 9-5 an extraordinary game away to Ramgarhia in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 on Saturday.

The visitors fought back from 5-2 down at half-time to level at 5-5, but then conceded four more goals Scott Beach levelled for Witney after the hosts had taken the lead in the first 30 seconds.

Ramgarhia went 3-1 ahead, before Jacob Deacon replied for the visitors, who conceded two more goals before half-time.

For the first 15 minutes of the second half, Witney battered their opponents and levelled with further scores from Beach and Deacon, plus one from skipper Andy Gosnell.

That was Witney’s moment in the sun. It started sleeting, and the wheels came off as they conceded four more goals.
