WITNEY youngster Sami Vaudrey claimed an under 14 national time trial title with victory in Morecambe Bay, Lancashire.

The 13-year-old, who attends Bartholomew School, in Eynsham, and rides for Oxford-based club Zappis, won the first stage of the North West Tour – a three-day series organised by British Cycling.

Long Hanborough’s Jed Smithson, ten, was also successful, taking third place in the under 12 time trial, representing Eynsham bike manufacturers Worx.
