CHIPPING Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon has forged a strong alliance with champion jockey Richard Johnson, and the pair teamed up again to land a 20-1 double at Warwick.
Longsdon had Wells De Lune (2-1 favourite) spot-on to make a winning return after a break of more than four months when leading from pillar-to-post under Johnson to take a two-mile novices’ limited handicap chase by seven lengths from Jarlath.
And 35 minutes later, the duo were back in the winner’s enclosure when Kilfinichen Bay (6-1) battled home by a neck from Master Dee to record his tenth triumph for the yard in a handicap chase over an extended three miles and a furlong.
