RORY Heaslip scored twice as leaders Witney raced to a 5-2 victory at home to Sonning 2nd in the South League.
The pacesetters in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 took the lead when Ben Moss almost walked the ball over the line.
Witney became slightly frantic as they to push for goals and allowed Sonning to equalised before half-time.
Only a fine save from keeper Simon Howells prevented the visitors adding to their tally from breakaways.
Then the home side’s goals flooded in.
Rory Heaslip put two away, including nailing a drag flick at a petrified nine-stone defender, before Harry Swift and Justin Peel added to the tally.
Hayley Dobson scored in each of Witney Ladies’ weekend double-header games in South Clubs League Division 3A.
Dobson and Sunny Ricketts netted in their 2-2 draw against Wycombe on Saturday.
The following day, Witney triumphed 1-0 against Eastcote to go second in the table.
After a goalless first half, Ricketts dribbled into the D, before becoming the victim of a serious stick-tackle.
Dobson scored from the resultant penalty flick and Witney held on.
