THE remarkable Anderson family, from Witney, captured three titles in the single-lift world championships in Antwerp – less than two years after taking up the sport.
Pride of place went to Ryan Anderson, who collected two titles, only six weeks after undergoing an appendix operation.
He won the 52kg open and junior (age 18-23) bench press crowns with a lift of 75kg.
His father, Mark, followed suit by winning the masters (over 50) 60kg category, thanks to a lift of 110kg.
He also came second in the open 60kg category.
Meanwhile, his wife Lucy just missed out, coming second in the women’s 50.5kg open category, after just failing to lock out with 62.5kg.
