BESTWORK made it two wins in the space of six days for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon and jockey Aidan Coleman with an impressive success at Stratford.
The six-year-old, who had scored in good style at Uttoxeter earlier in the week, stepped up on that effort by making all the running to record an eight-lengths verdict over Sage Monkey in a handicap chase over an extended two miles and three furlongs.
Coleman had adopted similar tactics on the improving gelding on his previous start at the Staffordshire track to take a novices’ handicap chase by three and a half lengths from Skilled.
On the Flat, Chastleton trainer John Gallagher struck at Brighton with Andalusite, who landed a seven-furlong fillies’ handicap by half a length from One Big Surprise under Fergus Sweeney.
