KARATE: Two sisters from Witney claimed silver medals at the International Seiwakai Open competition in London.

Alysha-Paris Godfrey, 11, and Faye Godfrey, 8, came second in their repsective age groups.

SWIMMING: Witney put in a strong display during the second round of the National Arena League in Daventry.

They finished second with 190 points in West Midlands Division 2.

Lauren Mellings was named ‘swimmer of the match’ after claiming victory in the under 15 100m backstroke and freestyle, as well as second in the open 200m individual medley.

She was joined by Georgia Duff, Ellie Browne and Maddie Good to triumph in the relays.

Meanwhile, six Witney swimmers competed at the London Better Games, helping West Oxfordshire to victory.

GYMNASTICS: Natasha Granville returned from two years out through injury to win two silvers at the Oxfordshire two-piece event in Abingdon.

The Carterton Gymnastics Club member came second in beam and floor at level 3.

Nia Foggett clinched silver on vault at level 5, while novice Emily Whittaker claimed bronze.

Isabel Norris and Chloe Mills also put in strong performances.
