MAGIC Mirror continued her love affair with Kempton by recording a fourth course success this year for Leafield trainer Mark Rimell.
The four-year-old filly was a well-backed 7-4 favourite as she stepped up a furlong for a mile handicap following last month’s victory at the Sunbury track.
And she rewarded her followers by repeating the dose with a neck verdict over Suitsus under Jim Crowley.
It added to her two wins at the venue in January and March.
Monbeg Charmer put in a slick round of jumping to get off the mark over fences for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon at Ludlow.
The six-year-old, a winner of a National Hunt Flat Race and twice over hurdles, had finished only fourth on his first start over the larger obstacles at Worcester in September.
But fitted with a tongue tie in addition to a hood this time, he was mounted in the pre-parade ring and taken down to post early before the three-mile handicap chase.
And the tactics paid off as Jonathan Burke made all the running on the 11-4 favourite before a flying leap at the last sealed a length-and-three-quarters victory over Marcilhac.
