BOBBY Manson scored a hat-trick as Witney went top of South League Regional 2 for the first time this season with a resounding 6-2 victory at home to Oxford Hawks 3rd.

However, the hosts had to be patient as they led only 1-0 at half-time, Charlie Walker setting up Manson to score.

Two goals early in the second half from Harry Harbage and Ben Moss made it comfortable for Witney.

Pat Dunleavy replied for Hawks, before Harbage netted his second to make it 4-1.

The visitors did not give up and Matt Northfield beat keeper Si Howells to cut the deficit to two goals.

Witney responded, and two close-range goals from Manson not only completed the scoring but also his hat-trick.
