SWIMMING: Naus is star of the show for Witney

Cathy Naus took two second places as Witney A finished third in the third and final round of the Home Counties League at Leighton Buzzard.

She was runner-up in the 11 years’ breaststroke and butterfly to take the swimmer-of-the-match award.

Runner-up was open swimmer Yolanda Speare, who won the 100m backstroke, came second in the 100m freestyle and was fourth in the 100m individual medley.

Larissa Dalgarno, 13, won the 13 & under 50m backstroke in a personal best.

Witney B were sixth in their gala at Oxford.

Open men’s swimmers Adam Colling and Jack Kendall stole the show with the team’s only individual victories in the open 100m individual medley and 100m breaststroke.

The 11 & under girls team of Clemmie Young, Ellie Browne, Sophie Pau and Grace Blackledge won the freestyle relay.
