A SECOND fixture has been arranged for Oxford United's tour to Spain later this month.

Michael Appleton's side will visit Alhaurin de la Torre, who play in the fourth tier, on Tuesday, July 12 (7.30pm) for what the club describe as a training game.

United had been planning to play two fixtures, but a late withdrawal meant the itinerary was released on Thursday with only one game – which proved unpopular with some of the 350 fans who had already booked.

The clash with Alhaurin de la Torre at their 3,000 capacity stadium will be instead of the open training session, which had been scheduled as a replacement.

United's second game is on Friday, July 15 against UD Marbella.

Chairman Darryl Eales said: "I’m delighted that the club has managed to secure a fixture for the Tuesday, which I hope makes up for the disappointment of the previous cancellation.

“Everyone at the football club is extremely grateful to every supporter who are travelling to Spain, as it offers us all a unique opportunity to come together and be part of the club’s pre-season preparation.

“It will be a wonderful week, there are a number of fantastic activities lined up for supporters and club staff to share together and I’m sure everyone will have a brilliant time."
