IT WILL be all change at OxVox tomorrow.

The Oxford United supporters’ trust are holding their AGM before the game with Rochdale, where several committee members are stepping down.

Jeremy Faulkner is the highest-profile departure – and one of the final acts in his three-and-a-half year tenure is to organise a first meeting between U’s owner Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth and landlord Firoz Kassam, which is due imminently.

The outgoing chairman signalled his intention last autumn to step down from a role which he estimates takes between 15 and 20 hours a week, but is proud of what has been achieved.

He said: “That workload sounds onerous and to a degree it is, but it’s also fun and hugely rewarding.

“I have met a huge amount of people and I’ve loved it.

“The membership has almost trebled to more than 1,000, which puts us in the top-ten for trusts with paid-for memberships in the country. That was a key task because we needed to make the trust more credible to the fanbase and the club.”

The initiative which attracted the most attention during his time in charge was an attempt to agree a deal to transfer ownership of the Kassam Stadium to make it a community-owned facility.

It is yet to bear fruit, but Faulkner feels progress has been made.

He said: “What’s important is in a period of change is we have remained in professional contact with all stakeholders. I think it’s crucial to keep talking.

“The bones of a plan that’s acceptable and understood by all parties is in place.”

And it has seen a meeting set up between the U’s owner and their landlord which will see OxVox involved.

Faulkner said: “The first step is building a relationship.

“It’s all about trust. I think we are uniquely positioned to broker meetings like that.”
