ALEX Jakubiak is delighted he has forced his way into Oxford United’s starting line-up and is keen to keep the run going tomorrow.

The 18-year-old made it clear last month he moved on loan from Watford to start games, rather than sit on the bench.

And after a couple of cameo appearances, the pacy forward has got his wish, starting the last two Sky Bet League Two games.

It is a sequence which he is hoping to extend against Exeter City.

He said: “When I first came I said I just wanted to be playing.

“I’ve started two games on the trot, so I just want to keep that going as long as I can.

“Coming on loan it’s an opportunity to get game-time which I probably wouldn’t have got at Watford, so it’s very important for me personally to be playing.”

United are yet to win in Sky Bet League Two, an unwelcome statistic they share with their Devon hosts.

Jakubiak has taken heart from United’s performances and believes City offer a good chance for them to get off the mark.

“Both teams are desperate for a win,” he said.

“They’re below us and we didn’t think we were doing too well.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for us.”
