OXFORD United have completed their second signing of the day, with winger Zeli Ismail joining on a month's loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 22-year-old, who has been at Molineux since he was ten, has played for England at under 16 and 17 level.

But he has struggled to break into the Wolves first team and has had loan spells at MK Dons, Notts County and most recently Burton Albion.

Ismail even scored against United for the Brewers in a 2-1 win at the Kassam Stadium in 2014.

Head coach Michael Appleton said: "He is an exciting young player.

"I’ve seen him play a number of times over the years and know what a clever player he can be, and he always causes problems for the opposition."

Ismail will go straight into the squad for tomorrow night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final second leg at home to Millwall.

Meanwhile, United have confirmed Danny Rose has left the club by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old midfielder made 142 appearances for the club over two spells, but has struggled for first-team football this season due to the form of Liam Sercombe and John Lundstram.

Appleton said: "Danny is a fantastic pro and we have been honest with each other.

"He has struggled for match time since September really, and we both feel that it is best for him to try his luck elsewhere.

"He leaves with our best wishes."
