RUGBY UNION: Wheatley plan a tribute

WHEATLEY will pay tribute to fly half Jason Laman, who collapsed and died during their 27-21 BB&O Championship victory over Crowthorne.

As reported in yesterday’s Oxford Mail, Laman fell while preparing to take a conversion and was pronounced dead in hospital.

The match was abandoned after Laman collapsed, but the result will stand.

Wheatley will hold a memorial match in Laman’s honour at a date to be confirmed.

Dan Rule (2), Andy Tippett (2) and Joe Hobdell scored Wheatley’s tries, with Laman converting one.
