RFU keep Exiles waiting

LONDON Welsh must wait until at least today to learn the verdict of the RFU hearing into charges that they fielded an ineligible player. The hearing into the case of scrum half Tyson Keats took place yesterday, but the panel of Jeremy Summers (chairman), Mark McCafferty and Peter Budge were still considering their decision last night.

If found guilty, Welsh, who play at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium, face a points deduction that could see them effectively relegated from the Aviva Premiership.

It is hoped the panel will issue a decision later today, but that will depend on how soon they can reconvene.
