Team captain Tom May returns to the London Welsh starting line-up for the top-of-the-table clash with leaders Rotherham Titans at the Kassam Stadium on Sunday (2.30pm).

May was injured for Welsh’s 36-15 defeat at Plymouth last weekend – a loss which saw the Exiles surrender top spot in the Championship.

Head coach Justin Burnell rings the changes for this match, making seven changes from the side defeated at Brickfields.

Seb Jewell returns to the side at full back, with Alan Awcock switching to the wing, while Will Robinson and Rob Lewis make up a new half-back pairing.

James Tideswell comes in as prop with Ben West named in the second row.

The last time the sides met – a Clifton Lane in October – Welsh edged a six-try thriller 32-27.

Rotherham have also made seven changes to the side that beat Moseley 16-6 at Clifton Lane last weekend.

Jamie Broadley is named on the wing and Dan White gets the nod at scrum half.

Ben Sowrey gets another chance to impress at hooker, Colin Quigley returns at tight head prop and there’s a whole new back row with Alex Rieder, Ali Birch and Alfie To’oala.

Coach Lee Blackett said: “People have said this game is the biggest we’ve had in years; I don’t see it like that.

“We want the win, but it’s not a do or die situation.
