LONDON Welsh assistant coach Gordon Ross would like to see Ireland beat France and win the RBS Six Nations today.

Ross, who is a former Scotland international fly half, and the Exiles squad expect to watch at least some of the action after arriving in Penzance for tomorrow’s Greene King IPA Championship match against Cornish Pirates.

“For the sake of rugby, it would be nice if Ireland could win it for Brian O’Driscoll,” said Ross “He has been such a legend of the game.”

Although Toby L’Estrange and Will Robinson are again selected ahead of him to face the Pirates, Ross is not yet hanging up his boots.

“I will still keep myself fit, but I am carrying a bit of an injury. It’s a back and neck problem.

“I will try to do as much I can if required.”
