OXFORDSHIRE clubs are being invited to air their views on proposed changes to England’s league structure.

Clubs are encouraged to attend a meeting at Gosford All Blacks RFC on Tuesday, April 8 (7.30).

A plan, which is due to be voted on by the RFU council on April 11, recommends a restructure of levels three to six of the English Clubs Championship.

Its proposals include reducing level three (National 1) from 16 to 14 teams and splitting level four (National 2 North and South) into four sections of 12 teams each.

Oxfordshire’s RFU represenative Colin Baldwin said there was plenty of opposition to the proposals and will recommend the council vote is delayed to June.

“I don’t think we will be voting on it in April because there are a number of council members who wish to discuss it further with their clubs,” he said.
