NATIONAL 3 SOUTH WEST

OXFORD Harlequins have continued with their tradition of recruiting Antipodean players on their return to level five of English rugby.

Quins have signed New Zealanders Ethan Carlisle (scrum half) and Liam Nichols (hooker) plus Australian pair Joel Hulett (centre) and Kyle Sharpe (prop).

Having won South West 1 East in 2013-14, chairman Neil Hopper says their aim is “to build on last year’s successes”.

Coaches Jamie Cope (forwards) and Keni Fisilau (backs) are in charge of the squad, but head of rugby Steve Chadbone has stepped down.

“We would like to thank him for his efforts,” said Hopper.

“Through his hard work the club is now in a lot stronger position both on and off the field.”

Second row Luke Brown continues as captain after leading Quins to a league and Oxfordshire Cup double last season.
