TIM Molenaar insists he and Tom May cannot take their places in London Welsh’s midfield for granted.

The experienced duo start in the centre against Exeter tomorrow, with more than 200 Premiership appearances between them.

“We offer different qualities,” said 33-year-old Molenaar, who joined Welsh from Harlequins.

“Tim is more of a distributor and I am more of a hard runner, so that gives us different options.

“But there are a lot of good players in the squad who could be selected.

“They are relatively unknown in the Premiership, but can have a big impact before other people start to talk about them.

“The squad is very competitive, which is what we need.”

May, 35, continues as Welsh captain, while tomorrow will be New Zealand-born Molenaar’s first appearance at the Kassam Stadium.

“I am looking forward to getting a feel of the stadium.

“We need to be targeting our home games really, especially as Exeter are there for the taking.”
