Banbury Bulls kept the pressure on the leaders with a 44-5 victory at home to lowly Droitwich in Midlands 2 West South.

While skipper, Eddie Phil-lips, again led the way with a personal haul of 24 points from a try, five conversions and three penalties, this was a good all-round performance Two Phillips penalties put Banbury 6-0 up before centre Jimmy Manley departed because of injury.

Lionel Byrne and Dan Tooth went over for tries and a brace of Phillips conversions made it 20-0 at the break.

In the second half, Phillips increased the lead with a penalty and converted a try from Joe Mills who took a offload from Josh Deegan.

The bonus was secured with Phillips finishing off a multi-phased move for a try he converted himself.

Tooth hacked on a loose ball to score Banbury’s final trybefore Will Baillon went over for a consolation effort for Droitwich with the last play of the game.
