OXFORD University captain Tess Braunerova has welcomed the news that this year’s women’s Varsity Match will be played at Twickenham for the first time.
The 29th clash between Oxford and Cambridge will take place at rugby’s HQ on December 10 – the same day as the traditional men’s match.
“This exciting announcement is a major step forward for women’s sport at both universities,” said Braunerova.
“The Varsity Match is the focal point of our season and by having the most famous stage in world rugby on which to play can only be a catalyst for greater growth.”
