Prop Nathan Trevett believes London Welsh will need little motivation for tomorrow’s Aviva Premiership clash with Wasps at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium tomorrow (2.30), writes JACK JOHNSON.

The Exiles were hammered 71-7 at Adams Park in November – their second heaviest defeat of the season.

Relegated Welsh have suffered two further 70-plus losses in a torrid campaign that has seen them pick up just one bonus point.

Trevett, who was ruled out of the reverse fixture due to injury, is eager to right the wrongs.

“I think the manner of the result at Adams Park is quite fresh in the boys’ minds,” he said.

“We rolled over and they did not have to work hard for it. We don’t need to motivate each other this week.”

The Welshman added: “I was injured at the time, but I watched it and it was very disheartening.

“Sometimes we’re not good enough, but when you are just rolling over and conceding 60-70 points it is a different story.”

Seb Jewell, who did play against Wasps, agreed with his teammate.

When asked if the heavy defeat had any bearing on tomorrow’s game, the full back, who yesterday signed a new deal, said: “Yes, definitely, but it is a mixture between getting our emotions right.”
