CHINNOR fell to an eighth loss of the season as they suffered a 25-23 defeat to second-placed Taunton Titans.

Duncan Hales got the visitors off to a flyer in the National League 2 South encounter, crossing in the first minute, before Will Millett replied with a penalty.

Chinnor took the lead when Marcus Beer went over, Millett converted, but they were immediately pegged back to 13-13 when Jon Gatford strolled to the line.

A Millett penalty saw Chinnor lead 16-13 at the break.

But with Joe Vandermolen in the sin-bin, Taunton went 20-16 ahead, thanks to Barrie-John Chapman’s try, which Gary Kingdom converted.

The visitors then scored again through George Cooper as Chinnor’s Tom Burns was yellow carded.

But the hosts kept attacking and Junior Fatialofa dotted down and Millett added the extras, but time ran out.

Henley Hawks suffered a third-straight defeat as they went down 36-3 at home to Plymouth Albion in National League 1.

Billy Searle (2), Tom Bedford, Tom Putt and Ethan Ford all dived over in the first half as Plymouth led 33-3 at half-time.

Putt converted four of the tries and kicked a penalty.

Fly half James Comben landed a three-pointer during the first half onslaught.

Hawks improved after the break and spent long periods inside the Albion half, but they were unable to break through.

A penalty from Putt stretched the visitors' lead for the only score after the break.
