BANBURY ran in nine tries as they crushed Dunlop 55-14 in Midlands 2 West (South).

Joe Mills (2), Josh Deegan (2) and captain Ed Phillips all went over in the first half as the league leaders ran riot.

Phillips converted three of the five tries as Bulls led 31-0 at the break, with the four-try bonus point already secured.

Dunlop emerged for the second half with more spirit and got on the scoresheet with a converted try.

Both sides then exchanged tries, with Simon Brand touching down for Banbury.

And the home side were not finished there as Sean Banister, Adam Walsh and Ian Isham all added to Bulls’ try count, with Alex Stevenson converting twice.

In Southern Counties North, Wallingford overturned an early deficit to beat Stow on the Wold 30-16 at home.

An early penalty and converted try saw the visitors take a 10-0 lead and things got worse for the hosts when they lost No 8 Ian Jeffreys to a rib injury.

But Wallingford rallied, with the pack dominating, and earned a penalty try following persistent scrum offences from the Stow.

After an exchange of penalties, Dan Sadler made it 17-13 to the hosts when he kicked on and dotted down.

Stow responded before the break through a penalty kick.

In the second half, Wallingford’s dominance in the scrum and line-out told.

And Ralph Smith went over the whitewash on two occasions.

Meanwhile, Bicester made it two games unbeaten as they defeated Bletchley 18-3.
