FLY half Mike Martin broke his leg as Grove recorded their first away league win in 13 months with a 22-14 victory at Swanage & Wareham.

Brendan White’s try gave Grove the lead in the South West 1 East fixture, with Martin converting.

And it was 12-0 at half-time, with Josh Allen, who replaced the injured Martin, crossing.

The hosts responded with a converted try, and Grove’s Tom Clipsham was sin-binned.

White crossed again after a mazy run, before Joe Chilvers dotted down to make it 22-7.

Swanage grabbed a converted try, but Grove saw out the win.

Witney recovered from a ten-point deficit to beat Swindon 13-10.

Adam Westall’s penalty gave Swindon the lead, before Jordan Sheppard dived over.

Westall added the extras to make it 10-0.

The hosts’ pack began to tire and on 50 minutes Witney’s Charlie Bennett touched down after a scrum.

George Lewis converted.

Fly-half Lewis then slotted a penalty to make it 10-10.

The crucial moment came on 71 minutes when Swindon full back Oliver Wilson was sin-binned for not releasing and Lewis kicked the three-pointer to win the match.

Oxford Harlequins earned their first away win of the season with an 8-3 victory at high-flying Maidenhead.

The hosts took the lead on 22 minutes through a Mike Davies penalty, but Quins responded with Axel Poulet going over in the corner.

Quins increased their lead on 42 minutes with a Huw Dimond penalty as they earned a narrow victory.
