WITNEY earned the bragging rights with a dominant 42-10 victory over local rivals Grove at Hailey Road.

The west Oxfordshire side's six-match winning run leaves them fourth in South West 1 East, while Craig Burrows's team remain three points above the relegation zone.

David Hyde stretched over to give Witney a 5-0 lead on five minutes.

It was soon 12-0 when Charlie Bennett touched down and George Lewis converted.

Grove responded with Graham Crapper going over and Mike Martin adding the extras.

Lewis and Martin exchanged penalties as Witney led 15-10 after 32 minutes.

The hosts lost Lewis Collins and Bennett to injury, but it was 20-10 at the break when Charlie Dyde crossed.

Grove lost a man to the sin bin in the second half and Dyde went over again. Lewis converted to make it 27-10.

Witney also went down to 14 men, but Lewis's drop goal extended their lead and on 75 minutes it was 37-10 when Arron Lambourne crossed.

Lewis added the extras.

Hyde went over late on to complete the scoring.

Oxford Harlequins remain unbeaten at home after a 27-8 win over High Wycombe.

The visitors edged the early exchanges, while Quins lost influential fly half Sam Watkinson to an ankle injury, before Wycombe's Anton Silvey was driven over.

Huw Dimond’s penalty reduced the arrears for Quins after Michael Fradgley was sin-binned for Wycombe.

And winger Ed Yeats crossed on 36 minutes, with Dimond converting to make it 10-5 at half-time.

Matt Wardle kicked a penalty for the visitors, who then crucially had Henry Wise and Ollie Fennell-Wells yellow-carded within minutes of each other.

Quins took advantage with Keni Fisilau and Jack Avery going over.

Dimond converted the second score to make it 22-8.

The bonus point was secured with nine minutes to go as Nick Gardner grounded, before Wardle was sin-binned late on.
