A STORMING display by replacement No 8 Wes Westaway helped Bicester come from behind to win 33-12 at Stow-on-the-Wold.

Starting their Southern Counties North campaign, Bicester trailed 7-6 at the break, centre Tom Miles landing two penalty goals for the visitors.

Ned Mawby scored a try for Stow, converted by Joe Nott.

It was a different story in the second half, with flanker Jack Horwood, returning after ten minutes in the sin-bin, combining well with Westaway to force an early penalty which Miles converted.

Westaway went on to score one try and have a hand in three more as Bicester raced clear for a commanding victory.

First, with Stow down to 14 men, Westaway set up a try for fly half Dave Hampton, which Miles converted.

Westaway then touched down following a heel against the head, which Miles improved for a 23-7 lead.

Then the No 8 peeled off for supporting centre Lemeki Valevou to send prop Tom Horwood charging over wide out.

Billy Maude replied with an unconverted try for Stow, before Westaway started the move that led to Dave Aslett racing over in the left corner for their fourth and bonus point try.

Wallingford ground out a 10-5 victory at home to Aylesbury.

After Phil Dawes had put the home side ahead with a penalty, Aylesbury responded by forcing their way over from close range for an unconverted try.

Wallingford then produced a moment of magic to win the game in the 50th minute.

After a loose Aylesbury pass went into touch on halfway, Dawes took a quick line-out to winger Ralph Smith, who stepped through the dozing Aylesbury defence, before chipping ahead and grounding the ball for a try.

Dawes converted from the touchline to complete the scoring.
