MATT Williams says the perfect response from Chinnor will be taking maximum points against Clifton.

The director of rugby saw his side lose their 100 per cent National League 2 South record with a 16-12 loss at Canterbury.

Williams felt a number of small factors conspired against his table-toppers last weekend, but is backing them to bounce back tomorrow.

“I think there were a lot of nothings that equated to something,” he said.

“There was probably a slight hangover from a great win the week before, Richard Thorpe was ill, Nathan Hannay had a family issue, we sat on the M25 for three-and-a-half hours – we had lots of little issues.”

He added: “In many respects it’s good that the unbeaten run has ended and the monkey is off our backs now.

“The best way to bounce back from that is to produce a five-point home show.”

Thorpe returns to the side at No 6, with Ricky Cano coming back at prop.

Greg Goodfellow (scrum half) and Henry Lamont (wing) are back, with the other changes in the line-up positional.

Henley Hawks bid to climb away from the foot of the table when they host Worthing.

They make changes in the backs following last week’s 27-17 defeat against Bishop’s Stortford.

Tom Gardner comes in at centre with Alan Awcock reverting to full back and James Comben starting at No 10.

The forwards remain the same, but there is a strong supporting bench including Stuart Philpott (hooker), Connor Morrison (flanker) and Marcus Lowe (back row).

Oxford Harlequins make three changes for their home derby against Grove in South West 1 East.

Sam Watkinson returns to fly half, Ollie Jenner moves to centre and Will Roberts comes in on the wing.

It will be a match to remember for Allan Purchase, who will make his 100th appearance for the club.

To mark the achievement, Purchase, who will be presented with a shirt before kick-off, has organised a charity collection day in aid of Alzheimers Research UK, in memory of his grandma.

Banbury travel to Reading Abbey.
