FORMER Oxford University half-back Tom Mitchell captained England to the Vancouver Sevens crown.

A 19-7 victory over South Africa in the final saw coach Simon Amor’s side claim their second victory on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

England advanced from Pool A with victories over Chile and Kenya, as well as a draw against South Africa.

They then beat New Zealand in the last eight, before defeating Fiji in the semi-finals and the Springboks in the showpiece.
