Chipping Norton’s Matt Dawson cuts through the Bicester backline during his side’s 55-0 home victory
Neil Penny and Barry Nutt shone as Chipping Norton hammered Bicester 55-0 in the SSE Clubs Championship BB&O Premier Division at Greystones.
Wing Penny grabbed a hat-trick of tries, while full back Nutt bagged a brace and kicked 15 points.
Nutt converted his own try for the opener, but it was only 7-0 at half-time.
A penalty from Nutt got the ball rolling before he, Matt Dawson, Tom Hall, Penny and Richard Flather got in on the try-scoring act, Nutt converting five.
Witney put in a valiant performance, despite losing 33-14 at second-placed Old Cent-ralians in South West 1 East.
The visitors conceded too many penalties and Centr-alians took advantage with a deserved victory.
Two converted tries put Centralians ahead and a rout looked on.
Scrum half Gareth Camp-bell’s interception try, converted by fly half Henry Lamb, gave Witney hope.
Centralians managed three more tries, two converted, thanks to some relentless pressure.
In the midst, lock Charlie Bennett set wing James Monks up for Witney’s second try, Lamb converting.
