RUGBY UNION: Sloppy Witney slip up
Witney were undone by a sloppy start to the second half as they lost 19-16 at Swindon in Southern Counties North.
Witney took the lead with a Henry Lamb penalty.
Swindon replied with a converted try, but Witney scored again following a break from fly half Joe Collins.
He off-loaded to centre Carl Strutt, who was just able to stretch over.
Swindon's full back slipped between two soft tackles to bag a converted try before half-time.
Trailing 14-8 with the wind now in their favour, Witney struggled to get going and Swindon broke through for what proved the crucial try.
A Henry Lamb penalty reduced the deficit.
Scrum half Gareth Campbell jinked his way into scoring range and showed great strength to finish, but Witney couldn't take any of their remaining chances.
