RUGBY UNION: Rampant Chippy pass 1,000 mark
 |
| HAT-TRICK: Full back Barry Nutt bagged a try treble in Chipping Norton's 60-0 win at Gosford All Blacks |
CHAMPIONS Chipping Norton became the third English club to notch 1,000 league points this season after a 60-0 win at Gosford in the BB&O Premier Division.
Their win saw them match Northampton Saints and Hartpury College in reaching four figures in a season.
Chippy's tries came from Barry Nutt (3), Matt Dawson (2), Andy Chapman, Aaron Tustin, Meryck Royce, Robbie Naish and Craig Korszewski, with Jamie Lakin converting two and Korszewski three.
Witney beat Amersham & Chiltern 37-11 in Southern Counties North.
Witney started well and slick passing saw Will Worrall and Joe Collins release full back Johnny Wheater, who scampered over.
Amersham levelled with a well-worked try before their fly half slotted two penalties.
From a turnover ball in the Amersham 22, slick hands put Joe Collins in space and he glided over for a try.
Trailing 11-10 at the break, Witney upped their game with the back row of Will Worrall, Carl Campbell and Jimi Collis influential.
The clincher came from Wheater, who rounded his opposite number to score.
Henry Lamb slotted the conversion and then a penalty only minutes later.
Lamb then set up a try for his twin brother James, which he converted before adding a penalty.
James Monks ran in from 30 metres, and Henry Lamb's conversion completed victory.
