Panto magic at RAF Brize Norton

Thanks to the members of the Brize Norton Theatre Club, there's still a chance to enjoy a little panto magic in the Station Theatre, RAF Brize Norton, where they are staging the family panto Sleeping Beauty.

The show, written by Colin Wakefield and Kate Edgar, takes us into a marvellous fairytale world, and the classic story of a princess who is ensnared by an evil sorcerer's machinations.

The lovely princess is played by Elizabeth Fulton, cursed at her christening by the evil Carabosse, who is played by Paul McCue. Obviously, there is a handsome prince, who manages to save the princess, and it all comes good in the end. He is played by Andy Mitchell. Jan Robbs plays the good fairy.

As the panto includes a number of songs, written especially for the show, and loads of superbly choreographed dances, designed to complement this classic tale, this panto offers everything you could need to dispel the winter blues.

As the players say, RAF Brize Norton has built up a tradition of pantomimes, which stretches back more than 35 years. Their shows help to continue the mission of the RAF Theatre Association - RAFTA, in promoting amateur dramatics in the RAF. The players also believe that their pantos provide an important link with the local community.

The show continues Thursday, January 31, to Saturday, February 2, at 8pm, with a 2pm matinee on Saturday and Sunday, February 2 and 3. For further information or ticket enquiries, call 01993 843535.
