SPARKS Maxwell Nicholas Peacefully at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford on 13th June, aged 92 years. A much loved husband of Pauline and father of the late Nicola. Funeral service to take place at Kingsdown Crematorium, Swindon on Wednesday 3rd July at 1.30 pm. No flowers please, donations if desired for Alzheimer’s Research may be sent c/o E Taylor & Son, 21 Corbett Road, Carterton, Oxon, OX18 3LG. Tel: 01993 842421.

Can someone confirm this was the Flt Lt Maxwell N Sparks AFC , the last aircrew member of what was known as 'Operation Jericho' the low level raid on the German run prison at Amiens, France in 1944.
If so , sad to see no one else has remembered him. Very sorry to hear of his passing so close to the 70th anniversary of the raid itself.... Blue skies Mr Sparks, Lest We forget.
