THE COUNTY OF OXFORD (WEIGHT RESTRICTION) (HORSEMERE LANE, CASSINGTON) (REVOCATION) ORDER 20** NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The orders are for road safety reasons, including Horsemere Lane's junction with the busy A40 Oxford road and to prevent its use a 'rat-run' to that road, so as to revert the lane to its status as Restricted Byway 152/4.
1) The lane will be closed to motor vehicles and horse drawn vehicles and use restricted to cycles, horses and pedestrians; this will be achieved by placing a restriction gate in the lane approximately 117.5 metres from theA40.
2) the one-way traffic restriction (2), and the 5 tonne Weight Limit (3) will be revoked. Access to property and for loading will be permitted from either end of the lane.
The County of Oxford (Horsemead Lane, Cassington) (One Way) Order 1967 and The County of Oxford (Weight Restriction) (Horsemead Lane, Cassington) Order 1961 will be revoked. Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting:

or in person at County Hall, New Road, Oxford, OX1 1ND, from 8.30am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday, and at Eynsham Library, 30 Mill Street, OX29 4JS, from 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm Monday, 1pm to 5pm Wednesday & Thursday, 1pm to 7pm Friday, and from 9.30am to 1pm on Saturday. Objections to the proposal, specifying the grounds on which they are made and any other representations should be sent in writing to the address below no later than 5 July 2019. The County Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.
