(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) ORDER 2021 (VARIATION N0.1) ORDER 2021

NOTICE is given that on 11 October 2021 Oxfordshire County Council made the above minor orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the orders, which come into force on 1 November is to change/introduce wording into the existing map-based parking orders covering the districts of South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse and Cherwell to be compliant for Civil Parking Enforcement in the new Special Enforcement Areas (SEAs) which come into effect on 1 st November 2021. The minor orders have not made changes to parking restrictions or provisions as currently marked and signed on site, or to the current arrangements for parking permits. Minor amendments have been made to the wording within the orders including;

? References to 'parking attendants' being replaced with 'civil enforcement officers';



? Reference to 'excess charge notices' being replaced by 'penalty charge notices';



? Sections pertaining to previous Excess Charges in payment parking places have been removed;



? A new section has been added regarding Contravention of parking measures now being under the Traffic Management Act 2004;



? The option to pay for parking remotely (as this becomes available) by obtaining a Virtual Parking Ticket via online connectivity or mobile phone application, removing the need to display a ticket (which will also be accessed remotely by enforcement officers).

If you wish to question the validity of any Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 11 October 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
