A FAMILY-RUN car retailer has acquired an Oxford Volvo dealership.

Waylands has taken on Volvo Cars Oxford and reopened it in a new location at 171-173 Cumnor Hill.

Established by John O’Hanlon in 2017, the group’s other retailers are Volvo Cars Reading – its first franchise – Fawcett’s Volvo Newbury and Waylands Volvo Swindon, which were both acquired this year.

The acquisition of Volvo Cars Oxford has further cemented the group’s partnership with the Volvo brand, as Waylands now represents Volvo in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.

The company has kept on all Oxford staff including sales manager Rob Childs.

Waylands CEO John O’Hanlon said: "Everyone at Waylands is delighted to have acquired our fourth Volvo retailer, Waylands Volvo Oxford, and we are excited to relocate to the brand new site on Cumnor Hill.

"We believe that our relationship with our customers goes far beyond the initial purchase of the car and it is important to us that we deliver on our promises and offer full transparency to deliver an exceptional experience.

"The team looking forward to meeting existing customers but we would also like to encourage those living in Oxford to come and visit us to chat about their car purchase and servicing needs, as well as test drive one of the latest Volvo models."
