Bibury was 'discovered' by William Morris who described it 'the most beautiful village in England'. Japanese tourists in particular flock to the village, and this is largely attributed to Emperor Hirohito having stayed in the village on his European tour when he was a Prince during the first half of the 20th Century. He subsequently became a fervent advocate of the area.

The village itself offers a post office, village store, a hotel and pub and the nearby towns of Burford and Northleach provide shopping facilities for day-to-day needs. The nearest larger centre is the market town of Cirencester (c. 7 miles) and which provides more extensive facilities including a WAITROSE and Tesco supermarkets as well as an excellent range of independent traders and bistros.

The larger centres of Cheltenham and Oxford are also within easy reach with the A40 being about 9 miles to the East whilst Swindon (c. 15 miles) provides access to both the M4 at Junction15 and mainline rail services to London-Paddington in about 55 minutes.
