THE Burford Orchestra is playing its first concert in Witney for two years on Saturday night.
The orchestra, made up of amateur musicians from Oxfordshire, will be under the baton of a new conductor, 21-year-old Oxford University music student Andrew Gray.
The programme for the concert, at Wood Green School, features Sibelius’s Finlandia, Smetana’s Vltava from Ma Vlast, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel overture and Dvorak’s symphony No. 8.
Tickets are available on the door, priced £8 for adults and £4 for children. Parking at the school, in Woodstock Road, is free of charge.For more information, call Helen Jenkins on 01993 830559.
